On the 6th of January 1961 Arthur Burton wrote a verse from the Pied Piper of Hamelin on a black board in Ballougry PS. The writing was preserved by a whiteboard that was replaced in the summer. To celebrate this historic lesson we used an image of his writing to practice our handwriting and write narrative poetry. Arthur's writing remains visible from the side of our new whiteboard and often prompts conversions in class. Almost 65 years has passed and Arthur has helped shaped the lessons of our students.
